Efforts and Rest
Can you stop the Earth from spinning? Can you stop the progression of
the seasons? As preposterous as it may sound, many people try, at least
with their own lives.

The Earth spins, and we have day and night. A time for effort, and a
time for rest. The slightly tilted Earth orbits the sun, and we have the
seasons of the year. A time for planting, for growing, for harvesting,
and for rest.

The cycle of effort and rest is deeply ingrained in the world around us,
and in us as well. A good night's sleep makes for a good day's work. And
a day full of effort, makes for a good night's sleep. Get too far off in
either direction -- work with no rest, or rest with no work -- and your
efforts become useless.

You cannot avoid the need for balance any more than you can stop the
Earth from spinning. Work hard, rest well, and enjoy the optimum
performance that comes from a well balanced life.

For all the ppl who're taking their o levels or any other exams make sure u have a good night rest yah..?
Coz if u have lack of sleep then e amount of loss sleep u have will keep accumulating and when that loss of sleep is large enough you may fall sick.. now u wouldnt want to fall sick during your exam periods right..?
And to those of you who fall sick often but dunno wads wrong and those kids who are hyperactive, maybe its bcoz of ur sleeping habits dats causing e problem..

hmm i wonder wad if one day medical and technological advancement are so advance that we humans do not need to sleep at all..? juz pop a pill or spend a few minutes in a "resting" machine and you'll be energetic enough to do ur daily work.. productivity will be increased(if e world is not mechanised then and humans still do all e mundane manual work) with longer working hours without getting tired and learning pace in schools will be flexible depending on e individual abilities.. for e slower learners they can read a section of yesterday lesson they didn't understand thru e night and still keep up with their fellow classmates who may do other things at night..with e productivity increased, science and technology may developed at breakneck speed that almost all cures have been discovered and space travel to other galaxies within week or days is possible.. hmm of coz there will e bad effects and consequences of not needing to sleep.. in my opinion, the pros outweigh the cons so therefore i think it will be a boon to us..
well all that wishful thinking is making me sleepy.. for now i'll juz have my good night rest and dream.. *yawn*

yoz.. today was quite an eventful day.. firstly went to watch e jc soccer semi finals competition.. then went to orchard to eat dinner with alfie..

e soccer competition.. there was 2 matches today.. vj vs yj(of coz i supported yj) and sa vs mj(and here i support mj..). by e time we reach there(smu field) e first match has already started.. vj scored one b4 we came.e weather was damn warm and humid.. i wonder how e players can play in dat whether and play well too.. kudos to them man.. vj players tested e defense of yj lots of times..at one point it seems inevitable dat vj might score another goal.. but e yj keeper managed to keep his cool and save all of their shots brilliantly.. e match ended with a scoreline 1-0, yj lost.... shucks.. e next match was e highlight of e event.. sa vs mj.. there was this mj player dat look uncannily like thierry henry.. and his skills was not bad too..another thing was that their supporters were great.. cheering loudly for mj.. it was as though mj soccer team had a 12th player.. e atmosphere was great.. too bad i left during e first half.. oh yah saw quite a couple familiar faces there too..

then i made my way to orchard and meet up with alfie again coz he was havin a meeting.. waited for him quite a long time.. almost bored to death.. luckily there's videos of advertisement and movie trailers outside.. i love e new nike advertisement.. love e way they do e footbal tricks, fast flicking of e ball.. nvr fail to give me a laugh after watchin it.. ole~! ;-)

juz when i wanted to leave cine alfie called me.. about time.. met up with him and ate dinner.. wanted to go to john little or some other shops dat have clearance sale for clothes but all e shops were closed.. damn.. wad do u expect ritez..? most of e shops would be closed around 9..

gosh i really need to get a part time work.. i'm beginning to get claustrophobic stuck in my room either watchin tv, online, pigging awae or readin a book.. luckily i jog occasionally.. i treasure evry moment of it.. jogging late at night being with myself and no one else.. e peacefulness and quietness of my neigbourhood.. its juz amazing..
i dunno why my sis of all questions asked "Hey u not afraid dat some ghost will appear or all dat strange stuffs..?" i juz laughed.. i dun believe in such things..i'm quite a rationalist i would say.. but watchin horror movie is nice once in awhile.. being in fear and scared.. temporarily dat is..
yeah so at first when i'm out of job i juz love having a so called "luxurious" life of slacking.. nvr in my life have i slacked dat much.. its always band, study and mugging.. but all dat novelty worn off after some time.. So any kind soul out there who knows of vacancy for any part time job tell me aight.. okie pls..? *blinking with sparkling innocent eyes* :P

today's a long day..haiz.. ever since i stopped workin, my biological clock has adjusted to a new schedule due to my late sleeping time.. gotta force myself to sleep early and fix it back to my normal one so dat it will be easier for me when school reopens..
hmm..i still need to look up for caterers for e appreciation nite and do some reading.. and till then my fellow readers(who are so boliao as to read my blog! :P).. good nitez..

wow.. there's not any changes here since last few weeks ago.. i know there's no background music.. makes e webbie so creepy..i promise i'll fix dat soon.. ahhaz..

anywae u may ask wad i was doing this past few weeks.. been watchin tv, playing e comp, pigging awae, playing some sports and having supper with simon at 2 or 3am in e morning.. ahhaz.. i can sae wad a good rest i had..! its only a few days ago that i decided not to rot any further at home.. so i went job hunting today.. i went to john little at causeway point.. and man was there countless ppl appying for that job.. e number of crowd alone turn me off so i walked awae.. how i wish i got a job there.. i can walk to work meaning i can save on transport cost and exercise at e same time.. plus there's alot of amenities there too.. there's a stadium nearby and i can do my jogging there.. but its okie.. there's other jobs too..

so there i was, going to pizza hut branch at sembawang shopping centre.. i thought there will be alot of ppl there but i was mistaken.. there was so few ppl there.. last time i went there to eat at e satay club it was damn pack.. but then again its e exam periods now and it was in the afternoon then.. after filling up e form to work at e empty pizza hut branch i went to look around e place.. and end up at e optician shop.. i've been wanting to buy a monthly contact lens coz one of my permanent contact lenses is missing when i was cleaning it.. search all over it.. it was like finding a needle in a haystack.. so bloody frustrating.. i guess i shud take more care of my things in the future... e monthly contact lens didnt cost much.. 12 bucks only.. but after i paid for it, one of e opticians begin to give me a lecture on e difference of a permanent lens and disposable ones and giving e consequences of having a disposable contact lens.. at first i thought he juz wanna make more money by persuading me to buy a permanent one but his so call talk was quite persuasive.. i dun like e part where he explained e consequences.. a disposable lens is free size and its made specially for e europeans eyes and it may not be suitable to us.. and if we have an eye that is not as curve then e lens may scratch our eye...and as a result our eye may get injured and have to go for a surgery.. dat was like ouch... hmm but then i posed himone question which is "If disposable contact lens are dangerous why do u have it in the first place.." then he replied quite instantly "Oh its bcoz e disposable lens still can suit some ppl.." well I think its only a handful of ppl dat may get injured from wearing it..

anywae i'm readin a book by isaac asimov now.. its called "Prelude to the Foundation".. a science fiction books.. e first of its series.. e first time i took it out from e shelf of e library and read it, i was totally hooked by it.. coz firstly its so damn easy to read, secondly u juz cant get enuff of it.. after reading one page u will automatically turn e next page.. in short its a page turner.. and lastly bcoz of its characters.. i like e character of e hero and how e authors potrayed it.. i love his thirst to find knowledge even though he could get himself killed.. its juz remarkable.. evrthing interest him.. inquisitive.. he sounds abit like simon.. ahhaz.. to top it off, e hero's a mathematician.. wad a coincidence..! avid readers esp those who loves science fiction and even to those who wants to read a good book but has no idea what to read, THIS is the book or series of books that i recommend you to read.. hmm.. if only most of our s'pore students has abit of e hero's interest and thirst in searching for knowledge.. not juz mugging and mugging.. i noe most of them may blame e education system but it doesnt mean they cannot find more about wad interest them or wad they're currently studying.. even me myself sometimes fall into dat pitfall.. but at least i tried.. by borrowing books dat interest me which is self help books and a few psychology books..

i guess dats all for now.. back to my books..! *sprung off from the chair and grabbing e isaac asimov book* ;-)
